He built himself a mosque in 'Al Aalaa' or the citadel which King Jhon II of the Romans built, and because 'Salah Oul Deen' (Salladin) defited the cruseders and chased them out of this citadel (or castle) so it was named 'The castle of 'Salah Oul Deen El Aoubey' (Salladin the Aoubey)'.
